Commissioned by the Lux Singers, this work is specially tailored for the wonderful choristers who are based in one of my favourite cities. Apart from alluding to some of my favourite sights and places in Kaohsiung, the work incorporates ideas from both classical and pop music. The text pays homage to the past but also reminds us to have hope and look to the vast future! The work is deliberately kept simple to ensure it is accessible for as many people as is possible, and was written under the supervision of composition teacher Dr. Reynold Tharp at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign.
I hope this work will bring joy and hope to everyone who encounters it!
